Makinosita Residential Studio - 100-year-old Folk House in Akiruno

Tokyo Akiruno City

¥11,000 /HR

Overview

A roughly hundred-year-old farmhouse that still holds the way of life of the early Showa era.
Fusuma sliding doors, tatami, a tokonoma alcove and an engawa veranda — it has served TV programs, commercials and features.
Repeated extensions mean you can stage anything from the 1930s through to the present day here.
Around the building are a garden, trained trees, a well, a field, a storehouse and an air-raid shelter, with the hill behind it in frame.
It is kept for shooting only, so bringing in and building out your own set is welcome.
